The ART of CHANGE – Creatives (on the) Move
Artistic activism—or "artivism"—harnesses the power of creative expression to cultivate awareness and inspire social change. Spanning disciplines such as visual art, poetry, music, film, and theater, artivism is gaining momentum as a dynamic force for impact around the world. In recognition of this, the United Nations declared 2021 the International Year of Creative Economy for Sustainable Development.
Women, in particular, are often disproportionately affected by pressing global challenges—from economic crises and limited access to healthcare, to climate change, gender-based violence, and escalating conflicts. Yet, when empowered, women hold incredible potential to drive meaningful change.
This understanding inspired the launch of The ART of CHANGE.
Our Goals:
Amplifying Voices: Highlight the stories of women artists across Europe and beyond, showcasing how their creative work raises awareness about the urgency of achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) by 2030.
Inspiring Change: Produce and share short documentaries, freely accessible to the public, with the aim of inspiring others to take action.
Building Bridges: Foster dialogue between artists and the corporate and financial sectors to advance the shared vision of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.
Creating Networks: Establish an informal network of artists and corporate decision-makers who will collaborate to drive positive social impact.
Join us in celebrating the transformative power of creative expression, and help shape a more inclusive, equitable, and sustainable future.
